At ProFlow Suspension, we use our CTW Suspension Dyno to test shock and fork dampers when required, allowing us to accurately measure and verify damping performance beyond what’s possible with workshop checks alone.
The CTW Dyno is a computer-controlled testing system that measures compression and rebound damping forces across a wide range of shaft speeds. This gives us precise, repeatable data that shows exactly how a damper is performing, rather than relying solely on feel or static testing.
By cycling the damper at pre-determined speeds, the Dyno simulates real-world riding conditions, from low-speed inputs associated with smoother terrain and rider movement, through to high-speed impacts such as roots, rocks, and hard hits. The results are displayed as force-vs-velocity graphs, providing a clear visual representation of damper behaviour throughout the stroke.
Dyno testing allows us to:
- Verify that tuning changes or internal modifications are working as intended
- Diagnose performance issues such as inconsistent damping, cavitation, or internal faults that may be difficult to isolate in the workshop
- Compare before-and-after results to confirm improvements
- Develop damper settings better suited to the rider’s weight, riding style, bike, and terrain
Using the CTW Dyno gives both us and the customer confidence that damper performance has been measured, validated, and optimised where required, ensuring your suspension performs exactly as intended when it matters most.
